The answers to the questions below will give you an idea if your woodlot will be eligible for registration into the ETS:
Was your forest/woodlot clear (or mostly clear) pasture prior to 1990?
Was your forest/woodlot planted after 1990?
Have you harvested your forest/woodlot?
Have you re-established it back into trees or are you planning on planting?
If you answered yes to these questions and you have not already registered with ETS you have 2 years (cut off will be in 2022, the next 5 year return deadline) to enter your second rotation forest/woodlot into the ETS.
If your are looking to plant new areas and register them you still have an option of joining the sawtooth scheme or the averaging scheme until 31 December 2020. From 2021 onwards you will only be eligible for entering the averaging scheme with new areas.
Logic FSL understands the opportunities available as well as the process and for a fee will take care of this for you.
